What yoga clothes should I wear?
You will need to wear yoga clothes that are breathable and flexible. If you are a complete beginner, it will be okay to wear joggers and a t-shirt if this is what you feel comfortable in, but we'd recommend opting for leggings and a vest or form-fitting t-shirt as this will be more comfortable and provide a wider range of unrestricted movement.
Are leggings or shorts best for yoga?
Leggings and shorts are both suitable for yoga as long as they are flexible and comfortable. Which one is best is simply down to personal preference. However, there may be some further considerations such as yoga discipline. For example, yoga shorts may be better for keeping you cool during hot yoga, where leggings may be more appropriate for restorative or gentle flows as they'll provide more warmth.
What is traditionally worn for yoga?
Traditionally, yoga was an activity that generally only men participated in. As such, ancient practitioners would wear a simple loin cloth. Of course, this is not the case today and in modern tradition, many people opt for yoga leggings, fitness shorts, and sometimes fisherman trousers for a looser fit.
